ON SHAKESPEARE

My first encounter with Shakespeare was at an outdoor performance in a park and it was love at first sight!  I’ve enjoyed watching and reading Shakespeare ever since - partly because I feel like a detective when I uncover all the hidden meanings in the text – and partly because I feel intellectually superior when I quote it in everyday conversation.

WHAT SHAKESPEARE BY THE LAKES MEANS FOR CANBERRA

Shakespeare by the Lakes gives all Canberrans the chance to fall in love with Shakespeare – not just those fortunate enough to afford tickets to Bell Shakespeare.  It also keeps theatre live and exciting, the way it should be!

HOW I FEEL ABOUT MARGARET

Margaret is fun and full of energy and an absolute joy to play.  Having said that, poor old Margaret gets a bit of a raw deal in Much Ado as the victim of some Shakespearean slut shaming – something I’m sure the other characters would be outraged by if they weren’t so busy falling in love!

HOW I FELT ABOUT GETTING THE ROLE

A delicious combination of relieved, terrified and excited! I can’t wait to get started!
